Who Am I?

Hello All,

My name is Macie McKenzie Myrick and I am a Sophomore at the University of South Alabama. I was born and raised in the port city of Mobile, Alabama. I attended a small private school with a graduating class of 130. I was a Varsity Cheerleader, Student Government Association secretary, class Vice President, Homecoming Maid, Robotics club member, and Yearbook editor in my years at Faith Academy. I chose South Alabama because it was close to home and I could still live on campus, because of the lower cost. My major is Strategic Communication with a focus in Public Relations. I am excited about getting into some of my major classes this semester, and this is why I created this blog for class.

In my opinion a blog can be used for many reasons. One of the larger reasons would be therapeutic. Some people need a way to express themselves, but can not seem to do it by just human interaction. Others are shy and do not start up conversations, while others use it to express their deepest secrets. Another common reason to blog is to get the word out about a certain thing. The internet is, in my opinion, the fastest way to get out information. Whether it be a new product or just advertising something an individual tried, a blog can go a long way. I personally have not read any blogs since I was thirteen. I just have not had the time to blog or even look at blogs since then.

Someone in my Communication profession could use a blog for Advertising. You could advertise products you have used personally, or just draw attention to a product. I think a blog is a wonderful way to get what the average person thinks about a certain product or movie etc..A blog is a personal opinion, but can be useful if gotten to the right amount of people.
